Making My Booktube Return

Hi everyone. I’m rincey and this is
rincey reads. It’s nice to say that again. So quarter two is officially over. So I’m
back. I mean, I know I said in my last video that I didn’t know if I was gonna
return at the end of June. But as June started wrapping up, or I mean
even in like the beginning of June, I started to realize that I miss doing
this whole thing and I wanted to return. But I didn’t really know logistically
what that would look like. So I spent the month of June sort of thinking about
that. And I think I know what Rincey Reads looks like in my life now. So some
like basic updates. Work is significantly better than it was three months ago.
Praise the Lord. I’ve gotten over that sort of like initial hump of starting a
new job. I feel like, I mean, I still feel really new there. But I feel like I have
a better handle on things. I now have work from home privileges,
which makes a huge difference in my like mental health and energy and the fact
that I think I can now do this again. Because I can work from home two days a
week, which is amazing so that’ll definitely help with like time
management and energy management and trying to get videos done. And yeah, like
summer’s sort of ramping up and I’m still like really busy but I can see the
pockets of time where I can start making videos for my own channel again, which is
great. I don’t have any promises though for what this is gonna look like. Like
I’m gonna aim for one video a week on Fridays like I have been doing for the
past couple of years. But I’m going to start giving myself a lot more grace to
take weeks off when I don’t have a video idea or I just don’t have the time to do
the whole video thing. I also think I’m gonna start doing more individual book
reviews again. I started thinking a lot about, again, what I wanted this channel
to look like once I returned. And I think what I want to start doing is having
those individual book reviews specifically for books that I really,
really love. My like favorite video that I always make every year is my favorites
video at the end of the year. But you know, I was rewatching my favorites
video from last year and it was already like 30 minutes long and I had maybe
half or more of those books as like individual book
reviews. And so I’ve just been thinking about if I wanted to do favorites
at the end of this year, which I probably will, I need to start doing some
individual book reviews. So I think what I’m going to do is start working on that.
So I have a couple of books I’ve read over the break that I really, really
enjoyed including a 5 star read. So I definitely want to do individual book
reviews for those. And then sort of as I’m going along and reading books, if I
feel compelled to do a book review on it, I will do one. I don’t think I’m going to
do wrap ups any more. I’m kind of really enjoying reading books and not talking
about them unless there’s something about it that compels me to talk about it. But I,
again, none of this is like promises or guarantees or anything along those lines.
Like we’re just gonna see how it goes and hopefully you guys are okay with
whatever comes out. So yeah, I’m not gonna do a whole lot for this video because
I’m also like traveling this week. Like when you guys are watching this video I
will be out of town. So I’m making this a short and sweet video saying that yes, I
am coming back. I’m excited to come back because I’ve missed this, which is a
thing that I think I needed again. And things will be a little bit different
but you probably won’t really notice it outside of like me not doing wrap ups. I
highly recommend following me on like other places like Twitter, Instagram,
Goodreads, stuff like that. Especially Goodreads if you want to see
like each book that I am reading or I am finishing I should say. I have been
pretty active on most other social medias or at least those three social
media sites during my break. So if you haven’t been following me already there,
definitely do that. Let me know down in the comments below
what you guys have been up to. Tell me some books you are currently reading or
have been reading lately that you’ve really enjoyed. I’d love to hear that.
I’ve been going through like a weird reading mood. I think it’s partially a
summer thing and partially a “I don’t know what I want to read anymore” thing. I like
in the month of June I completed one whole book. So yeah, I’m slowly figuring
out what books I’m in the mood for lately and things like that. So that’s
been an interesting experience as well. So. So yeah, update me on what’s been
happening and I will hopefully have a video for you guys next Friday.
So yeah, that’s all I have for now and thanks for watching.
