New Order: Art and Technology in the Twenty-First Century | MoMA EXHIBITION

There are very blurred boundaries now between objects and machines and humans
in ways that are new. We collectively are adding to a kind of engine
that is going to probably escape or exceed our control. The artist now has more access to new kinds
of high technologies. New kinds of assemblies and bodies and images
and devices. Art can function as a kind of early warning
signal, speculating about different kinds of dystopian as well as utopian scenarios. Art is always a form of experimentation. By experiment, I mean that they don’t know
what the end result is going to be. What the end result is going to be.
